Email is a messaging system in which you can communicate with people all over the world so long as you have their user address. I email my mom, since I don't live with her anymore, and I sometimes email long distance friends. People could use email for communication, business, or news. They can email from their phones or computers. When writing an email, there are different rules than when talking to other people, since, unless the person whom you are speaking wears a wire at all times, they cannot prove you said what you said without witnesses. If you email someone a giant assortment of insults followed by around five death threats, they can press charges against you. However, if you do the exact same thing to their face in a darkened alleyway, it will be harder for them to prove the assumed murder plot you're creating.
See? Play it safe when you use the internet. You don't want to go jail before you even pull through with your crimes.
