Blog Post of the Day:
Read this small newspaper clipping and then write a blog post about it. What are your thoughts? How does it make you feel? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

The newspaper clipping sounds condescending. It seems to be saying that because you were born on this world, it's your job to make it better; your responsibility to go out and do something, regardless of your now void opinion.
But let's be honest. No matter what you think is your responsibility to do, there will still be sickness. There will still be war. There will still be sadness. People are stupid, and stupid people do stupid things, no matter how many times you mow the lawn. On your parents not owning you fun? Long story short, I hate parents who complain about their kids. Your child did not choose to be born under your care; they didn't even choose to be born. You, on the other hand? You very likely had a choice. If you didn't want to have children so badly, why did you? It's not like there are any ways to avoid getting pregnant and/or impregnating someone... Oh, wait, there are.
At my eighth grade graduation, this guy turned to me and said, "It's time for me to get out of this town." He seemed pretty serious, and that, right there, was the highlight of my evening. Where are you going to go, anyway? You're fourteen years old! But he still said it, and, sadly enough, it appeared that he meant it. Do you think he was under the apparently false impression that his town owed him anything? No, he wasn't. And I'm not, either.
The entire message of the newspaper clipping was basically that there are some things you have to do. And, for me, that begs the question of why. Why do I have to do those things? What if I washed the windows yesterday? Does this imply that the windows need to be washed every single day, because, if that's the case, I'm not sure if I can do that. Why do you have to be living for the world? Why is it that no matter how far I chase my dreams, there will always be someone in the background trying to guilt trip me into living for someone else?
If I agreed with the newspaper clipping, I would be saying that what you want to do with your life doesn't matter at all; but hey, it's for the greater good, right? And you should really be thinking about your great grandchildren's great grandchildren. I mean, sure, they're going to end up doing the same thing as you, throwing their life away in the process, but, c'mon. Don't be so selfish as to live your live for you.
In short, I disagree with the newspaper clipping.

Blog Post of the Day:
What is a Public Service Announcement? If you don't know what it is, Google it. In your own words, now tell me what it is? What are they used for? Can you recall an example of a PSA you've seen before?

A Public Service Announcement is information the general public of a certain area needs to know, given through media without charge; or, rather, without any clearly visible charge, since nothing is free. Usually, Public Service Announcements are about something important. At least, I assume it would be. Not sure why the government would waste time on something as simple as 'oh hey yeah, so the cupcakery is having a sale in a week', but I guess that's why I'm never going to be involved with politics.
I once saw a Public Service Announcement which kindly informed me of the incoming flash flood, interrupting Wipeout and ultimately doing nothing for me since the foretold flood never happened. Not that I should complain, because if there was a flash flood, and I simply continued to snicker at the misfortune fools on the kitchen television while eating undercooked pasta, I likely would be singing another dandy tune.

Blog Post of the Day:
After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use."

There's no point in living if you're living for someone else. Why should you be the one trying to fit into someone else's world? The people that created those standards aren't better than me; in fact, there's a pretty big chance that they're actually worse. Nothing is what it appears to be more than half the time, and the other half, there's probably someone else sitting behind a curtain pulling the strings. That's where you come to a choice; are you going to be a leader, a follower, or neither? A leader is in a hierarchy; a mess of tricking someone while unknowingly being tricked. A follower often doesn't even realize they're following; they just jumble along with the masses, preaching to the choir about things they often know nothing about. That brings a person to the last option.
Why abide by someone else's standards? Why force another into abiding by yours? There's no point; or, if there is one, I can't see it.
