Blog Post of the Day:
What do you know about photography and/or photo editing? Do you take photos? How do you take photos? Do you edit photos before posting them on social media? How do you edit them? Explain any background or knowledge you have about photography and photo editing. Do you like it? Do you have any interest?

I take photos all the time, but there isn't any technique when I take them. I snap a picture, admire the results, and ignore the haters. Well, not really. I'm not popular enough to have haters. I just mean that I don't follow any rules when I take photos.
I don't really edit photos; at most, I crop them. Sometimes, for fun, I'll give the photo high saturation or contrast. It looks funny afterwards.
I have no serious knowledge on photography except for the common sense type of stuff. I like taking photos of nature or animals; humans scar the picture and make it ugly, so I try to keep people out of the photos I take. I like taking pictures, but there isn't any particular interest there.

Blog Post of the Day:
Tell me about your weekend. Share pics!

My life isn't that exciting. Why do you expect me to have pictures of my obviously glamorous weekend when the most exotic thing I did was clean up cat litter? Weekends are my break. I don't do anything during those precious two days of sanctuary, because I know that on Monday, I'm going to have to come back here. Urg. In short, my weekend was pretty great; I ate pizza, watched movies, took long naps, and had an overall unproductive Saturday and Sunday. Thanks for asking.

Blog Post of the Day:
Below is a letter written to the editor who wrote the article 'Enforcement of dress code creates negative effect' that your blogged about last week. Most of you wrote on your blog that you agreed with the writer. What are your thoughts after reading the letter below and seeing a different perspective. Are they the same? Are the different? Do you agree? Disagree? Explain yourself.

The letter skipped around a lot. Half the time it was energetic and the other half it was flat out aggressive.
Also, though I myself have decided I disagree with the article we blogged on, I also disagree with this letter.
The message I took away from the letter was basically an "it's just what you have to do so even if it's unfair, do it" which I find to be an ineffective way to answer articles or arguments, such as the one met last week.
There is a bigger picture behind dress code, and the letter makes sense. There are certain things that are appropriate in different situations. Like, you wouldn't wear the moth eaten Halloween costume you wore last year to a funeral. At the same time, though, is that really the biggest issue in the High School system? We're learning how to be young adults, and we're learning that there are times and places that necessitate different things from us. But, come on. As long as we understand that we aren't going to be able to wear our favorite shorts to work when we're in out late thirties, isn't that enough? I find it a little strange that you're comparing High School to a professional work place.
It's going to be a long time before I'm in an actual professional work place.

Global Issue Infographic

10/7/14

Blog post of the day:

The following article was in the September issue of The Tiger Print. Read the article (even if you already have) and respond to it below. What do you think? Do you agree? Disagree? Consider all perspectives of the article while you respond.

I agree a little, and I disagree a little, too.
I mean, how good can wearing shorts make you feel? I, personally, feel my best when buried inside an oversize sweatshirt. The author of this article claims that each piece of clothing she wears is put on only because she likes them, and I can't help but think that isn't the full truth.
Still. It kind of makes sense. Why should she be expected to change her clothing choices just so male students don't feel "distracted"? Maybe, instead of acting like the problem is her shorts, we should be focused on the actual issue.
Just saying. And the article says it, too. So even if wearing jeans isn't that big of a sacrifice, there are other problems on stage here.

Blog post of the day:
Tell me about your weekend! If you don't have anything fun to share, tell me about the city you live in. What do you love about Kansas City? Do you have a favorite place in the city? Favorite team? :) Favorite event? Explain.

Over the weekend, I started to knit a scarf. It's green and I've already finished about a fourth of it. It's a pretty ugly scarf, with all these messed up little notches in it, and it took literally seven hours of my life to get as far as I did, but hey. When I'm old and retired, I'm going to need to do something aside from sit on a couch and watch Gilmore Girls with my cat. I'm trying to be a realist about this.
By the way, doesn't she just look like an awesome lapcat? Like a laptop, but a cat. On that note, why is it called a laptop when it's a computer? Oh, wait, the full name is laptop computer. Okay. Then this is a laptop cat. Enjoy.
When I moved, I left my cat behind. I kind of miss her.
